Job description
Loan Mantra is seeking a highly motivated Credit Advisor to perform critical tasks with efficiency and organization. The Credit Advisor is a significant hub on our quickly growing financial team. Candidates should be self-motivated, proactive, and detailed in their ability to work with clients both in our local headquarters of Charleston, South Carolina; and throughout the United States. Candidates must excel in a traditional financial advisory role but should also understand FinTech (financial technology), including current trends in the FinTech space.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Serve as primary point of contact for SMB clients.
- Liaise with clients throughout lending process, maintaining their superior client experience through constant & positive communications.
- Evaluate and underwrite prospective loan packages, including commercial mortgages.
- Review transaction documents including contracts, mortgages, financial statements, etc.
- Communicate and interact with bankers, partners, and other service providers as required with constant professionalism and organization.
- Review transaction documents including contracts, mortgages, financial statements, etc.
- Manage transaction timelines.
- Compile high quality application packages and ensure communication between borrowers and other parties, as necessary.
- Gather and organize necessary documentation for application packages.
- Negotiate loan terms and mortgage applications.
- Research SMB market regarding new ideas and products.
The Credit Advisor has a unique opportunity to receive effective, on-the-job training (as needed) to effectively communicate credit concerns, formulate loan structures and gain thorough understanding of various commercial lending products. The ideal candidate is a quick learner with a baseline understanding of credit finance and appreciation of the SMB market space.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or similar field.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and an ability to work both autonomously on self-directed projects and collaboratively in a team environment, often with global team members remote to HQ.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to prioritize workflow accordingly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Communicate and interact with bankers, partners, and other service providers as required with constant professionalism and organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances as dictated by market-driven concerns and/or client needs.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must pass background check.
